Now this roomba does it for me and gets the carpets a whole lot cleaner than my other vacuum.EDIT: One year later and this baby keeps ticking. This is by far the best purchase i have made of my entire life. Im not kidding. I have a German Shedder that keeps the floor covered in hair and this thing takes care of it. Refurbished? only difference is i got a better deal. Ive dropped this thing numerous times and it keeps ticking. spilled stuff on it. you name it. Just needs maintenence to keep it clean - the brushes collect hair after a while. Im only on my second filter - they last a long time. Its about time to change the brushes but it still works like a charm. Summary: If you have a bad shedding animal then this item will change your life. no more vacuuming everyday. You do have to empty it everyday but thats easy to do. Buy this now if you got fur problems. It does a good job of cleaning hardwood floors on my main level (kitchen, hall, living and dining rooms), moves around furniture nicely, and is reliable. The floor never looks dirty or dusty, and there is always a good deal of dirt in the unit to empty indicating that it works. Ihe Cons: It is a little loud, and more importantly it tends to climp up the leg of a coffee table and just shut off.
